Beginner's Luck
Hello everyone. It’s been a long time since I took a break from blogging. Glad I am back again on to this platform to share a few things with you.
Photography has always been my passion. I
gave a strong thought of pursuing it as a career many times, but I am sure I
don’t want to pursue my career in photography. At least not now. A career in
photography is very beautiful and mesmerising. Do not stop yourself if you want
to do that. Just click millions of pictures every day and someday you will be
able to freeze time.
Today's Blog
Generally, when people start photography,
they begin with automatic mode. It takes some time for the photographer to
understand the physical components of the camera in usage. Meanwhile one can
learn and how to choose angles, perspective etc..,
While clicking photographs, the two most
important things are subject and background. One needs to balance his focus on
the subject and choose the perspective of the background wisely. The distance
between subject and background can vary up to any lengths.
Let us now dive in and get some deep
insights on our topic for today.
Journey from Full Auto to Full Manual
Many
people in this world are passionate about photography. That can be mobile
photography or DSLR photography. Every Professional photographer in this world
has come up learning to use the automatic mode only.
So
the basic parameters of a camera are,
1. Shutter speed
2. ISO
3. White balance
4. Aperture
So, now let us speak of these parameters individually.
ISO: ISO
is slightly similar to shutter speed but not exactly same. ISO is the
sensitivity the Image sensor to light. Higher the ISO, more exposed the image
is. Personally, if you are using a mobile camera to shoot in low light
conditions, higher ISO results in lot of noise. But a higher ISO is an ideal
setting for astrophotography.
So, now let us speak of these parameters individually.
Shutter speed: Shutter
speed is basically the amount of time your image sensor is exposed to light. It
works exactly like your pupil. When you are in bright sunlight, your pupils
don’t dilate much. When you are in complete darkness, your pupil is completely
open. Likewise shutter speed also works in cameras.
Shutter of a DSLR camera
This is how shutter speed works in the camera. The longer you allow light into the sensor, the longer it takes to capture the image.
So, as I mentioned, a higher ISO results in higher noise
White Balance: White
balance is the temperature of the image. Yes, you read it right. Image also has
a temperature. Images range from cool to warm. Mostly you can leave the white
balance to automatic because, noticing a difference in white balance in single
degree is impossible. Therefore you can leave white balance to automatic.
Aperture: Aperture
of a camera can be considered as the diameter of the shutter. The higher the
aperture, more incoming light to the image.
So we
have focused on a few parameters today. I hope you have gained some knowledge.
Any queries will be answered in the comment section. So, until next time keep capturing😉😉😉
